Posted: Thursday, August 23, 2018. 4:31 pm CST.

BBN Staff: Staff members from the General Sales Tax (GST) Office in Belize City partnered for a ‘Back to School Drive Initiative’ to assist needy students in the Lake Independence area of the old capital.

Carol Smith and Kirk Archer presented their idea to other staff members in their office who welcomed the initiative and contributed to donate 15 school bags filled with school supplies.

Seven of the bags will be donated to St. Martin’s Primary and the other 8 to St. Luke’s Primary.

Smith told BBN that the staff is hoping that this initiative will be the foundation of many more to come to assist the community and the children who really need it.
