By BBN Staff: In an Ask the Expert segment yesterday, the Ministry of Education discussed class sanitation and other measures that will be taken in the classroom.

The ministry said that the administration and staff will practice regular hand washing, physical distancing and the wearing of masks.

“Classrooms will be clean and disinfected daily and between sessions and breaks,” the Ministry said.

Students desks will be required to be placed 3-6 ft apart.

The Ministry said that bigger schools will have to implement a shift system.

With relation to sanitation supplies, the Ministry said that UNICEF has agreed to provide $120,000 in sanitization supplies and the Ministry of Health has donated 14 drums of hand washing liquid.

Belize Electricity Limited has committed to $50,000 in supplies.
