By Aaron Humes: The Gang Suppression Unit (GSU) is in hot water again after a traffic mishap Saturday morning claimed the life of a senior citizen from Belize City.
Around 11:15 a.m. Saturday morning, members of the GSU were on mobile patrol on Morning Glory Street when they encountered 68-year-old Calvin Wright.
Wright had allegedly fallen and was in a sitting position in the middle of the street. But the GSU vehicle failed to avoid him and ran him over.
Wright was immediately transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital by officers and succumbed to his injuries whilst undergoing treatment. The driver has since been detained as part of police investigations.
