By Aaron Humes: The travels of Commissioner of Police Chester Williams and his senior officers took him up north once again to Orange Walk District.
Accompanied by Superintendent of Police Azenette Pook, he conducted a personal meet and greet with villagers in San Jose and Douglas, Orange Walk on Wednesday afternoon.
He spoke to them about the illegal contraband activities and the high risk of spreading the COVID-19 pandemic in the villages and the country.
Commissioner Williams also handed over special protective footwear for the police officers working in Douglas along the border crossing.
Back in the Old Capital at rush hour this evening, the Commissioner and his regional commander for Eastern Division, the newly appointed Assistant Commissioner of Police Richard Rosado (who recently graduated with his doctorate and is officially Dr. Richard Rosado) personally greeted motorists crossing the Belcan Bridge from north to south with a warm reminder of wearing & proper usage of their face/nose covering (masks).
Police were also out in the Twin Towns of San Ignacio and Santa Elena and Punta Gorda on their weekly meet and greet with constituents.
The Commissioner said he encourages all Belizeans to be better responsible in protecting ourselves against the spread of COVID-19.
