PUP presents education plan

By Aaron Humes: “Education must not  can not be an end in and of itself,” former Minister of Education Francis Fonseca in opening today’s presentation from the Opposition on its plans for education reform if elected later this year.

“It must provide us with a population that can fund employment and create wealth. Such a population is indispensable to our goal of a modern, growing economy.”

Charging that the ruling United Democratic Party has put too much into administrative bureaucracy and not enough on true innovation and development, the PUP outlined a policy of “quality education for lifelong learning.”

Fonseca said the PUP envisioned a system that will create the tools for people at every stage of life to create value of their education, to challenge the system, be proud of themselves and their nation, including having access from ABC to UB.
