Mexican authorities chased after drug plane that later landed in Belize

By BBN Staff: On Monday morning, Belizean authorities discovered an alleged drug plane in Northern Belize.

The Mexican Army had deployed Mexican air force aircraft after its national defense detected an illicit aircraft coming from South America in Mexican airspace, Riviera Maya news reported.

This occurred around 2 a.m. on Monday forcing the pilot of the plane to land in Belize.

Officials in Belize say at the time of the discovery, no cargo or crew were found.

The plane appeared to be a Gulfstream jet, the same model of planes found in previous such landings.
