House fire on Fabers Road- Was it arson?

By BBN Staff: There was a housefire on Fabers Road this afternoon and authorities are suspecting that it might have been a case of arson.

Authorities arrived at the scene just before 3:00 p.m. to find the two-story house completely engulfed in flames. After extinguishing the blaze, fire department personnel did a walkthrough, which led them to believe that the fire was caused by someone setting a mattress on fire.

The homeowner, Janett Wade, told authorities that she had left her house just moments before the fire started and was standing roughly 30 yards from the house which was still in view. Wade said she did not see anyone enter or exit the premises.

The house was not insured and Wade could not give an estimated value of the damage at the time.
