BREAKING: Minister of Health and Wellness says Dr Manzanero is on sick leave, not fired

By Aaron Humes: Director of Health Services Dr. Marvin Manzanero is on an unexpected break from his duties after testing positive for COVID-19.

But he has not been sidelined according to Minister of Health and Wellness Michel Chebat, speaking to reporters this afternoon.

The Minister said that in an effort to broaden the response to COVID-19, there will be a special taskforce led by Acting Director of Health Services, Dr. Melissa Diaz Musa.

As for Dr Manzanero, a familiar face to Belizeans in the course of the pandemic, he and the Minister will discuss, the latter said, where he will be best placed in the Ministry.
