By BBN Staff: Isidoro Richie Galvez Jr. the United Democratic Party’s (UDP) mayoral candidate announced today that he will be withdrawing from the race for the upcoming 20201 municipal elections.

Galvez took to Facebook today to announce his withdrawal and thank the people of Belmopan for their support.

“After suffering many health challenges during the time I was Covid positive some of which I am told by my doctors will leave long term effects, it is my decision that I should prioritize improving my health,” Galvez said.

Galvez also wished his team well going into the 20201 elections and gave a special mention to  Jacklyn Burns, who will be stepping in as the new UDP Mayoral Candidate. Burns also took to Facebook to wish Galvez a speedy recovery, noting that she had originally declined to run for personal reasons and had supported Galvez’s candidacy.
