Posted: Tuesday, February 23, 2021. 7:02 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: Belize is getting closer to not having any patients hospitalized due to COVID-19, based on data published by the Ministry of Health and Wellness.

While in months past the number of hospitalizations have been in double digits, for the past few weeks, the number has been trending downwards.

The Ministry’s latest data shows only seven patients currently hospitalized in COVID-19 units across the country, and two patients in the Intensive care Unit (ICU) receiving critical care.

Meanwhile, 12 more patients have managed to recover from the virus, bringing the national total for recoveries up to 11,799.

Notably, there have not been any new deaths reported today.
