Minister of Education and Special envoy for the Development of Families and Children visit Inspiration Center

By Benjamin Flowers: Today, Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Technology Francis Fonseca and Special Envoy for the Development of Families and Children Rossana Briceño visited The Inspiration Center, the facility on the George Price Highway that delivers much-needed therapy to children with disabilities.

The Minister, along with his Chief Executive Officer Dian Maheia and the Special Envoy, took a tour of the facility and were treated to a special presentation on the history of the facility, which was established by former Special Envoy for Women and Children Kim Simplis Barrow, who was there for the visit.

The visiting team also discussed current activities at the center, plans for the future, and also engaged in discussions that focused on the services that have been offered, the experiences of the Center’s staff in reaching out to children across the country, and the expansion towards teletherapy.

“The visit, which ended with a tour of the facilities, underscores the commitment of the Government of Belize to promote inclusion and advocate for the needs of all our children,” the Ministry said following the visit.

The Inspiration Center officially opened on Thursday, March 27, 2014, following Тwо Іnѕріrаtіоn Теlеthоnѕ іn 2012 аnd 2013 rаіѕеd ѕоmе $1.5 mіllіоn, muсh оf whісh wаѕ dоnаtеd bу thе Gоvеrnmеnt оf Веlіzе.
