By Zoila Palma: The United Women’s Group (UWG) has issued a statement condemning the behavior of the Leader of the Opposition.
A video went viral on social media on Monday showing Patrick Faber behaving aggressively toward the mother of one of his children in the presence of the child.
The Leader of the Opposition is then seen charging towards the room and sounds of a door being knocked/stomped open can be heard along with further verbal exchanges.
“The UWG strongly condemns these actions of the Leader of the Opposition as a senior political figure and a parliamentarian. He has an obligation to lead by example. This is not the first or second time that Hon. Patrick Faber has been linked to acts of domestic violence,” the UWG noted.
The UWG says that Faber’s true persona has been quite visible not only in his private life but also in his political life.
“We all watched and listened with great disgust at his behaviour in the House of Representatives this past Friday towards the Speaker of the House, Hon. Valerie Woods, who presides over the sittings,” the UWG added.
The group says that Faber’s disrespectful, discourteous, despicable, and impudent remarks in the House of Representatives is also robustly condemned.
The UWG says that it continues to aggressively advocate for zero tolerance of domestic violence.
