Samantha Dirks wins gold medal in 200m at Central American Athletics Championships

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Samantha Dirks won Belize’s first gold medal in the Women’s 200m Final in 23.80 seconds on Saturday afternoon in San Jose, Costa Rica, at the Central American Athletics Championships.

The record of 23.49 was set by Panamian Yasmín Louise Woodruff in 2016.

Mariandreé Chacón Aroche of Guatemala won silver in 24.47 while Ivanniz May Blackwood of Costa Rica took bronze in 24.85.

Dirks is also competing in the 400m, the 4x100m and the 4x400m.
