Crooked Tree woman charged with hosting a social gathering, granted bail

By Anita Nembhard: A Crooked Tree woman is out on bail tonight after being charged with gathering more than 10 people in her yard for a social activity, in contravention of the current regulations in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Marybeth Wade appeared in the Belize City Magistrates Court today before Chief Magistrate, Sharon Fraser, to answer to a single charge of hosting a social event, to which she pleaded not guilty.

Wade also challenged the police to prove that she in fact committed the crime she is accused of.

Her next court date is set for August 27.
