Belize Weather: Approaching tropical wave to bring some showers today

By Aaron Humes: The National Meteorological Service says it will be wet for some parts of the country due to a tropical wave crossing our landmass today.

Skies will be cloudy with showers and a few thunderstorms but decrease over some areas while lingering over the South and coast tonight.

High temperatures are 84 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 88 degrees inland, and 81 degrees in the hills. Tonight, it will be 79 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 72 inland, and 65 in the hills.

Winds are from the east to northeast at 5 to 15 knots and the sea state is choppy to moderate.

A flood alert is in effect for low-lying and flood-prone areas, especially over the Toledo District.

Tides will be high at 9:39 this morning and 10:38 this evening and low at 4:41 this afternoon.

The sun sets at 6:13 this evening and rises at 5:37 Monday morning.

There will be showery activity countrywide on Monday, especially over the south where it will increase on Monday night.
