Defence Force mourns death of Private Jessie Escobar

By Aaron Humes: The Belize Defence Force mourns the tragic passing of Private Jessie Escobar, 29, killed Sunday night in Santa Familia, Cayo District, at the hands allegedly of a fellow law enforcement officer.

Private Escobar, married and a father, had been assigned to Price Barracks, Ladyville, serving in the Light Engineer Company for eight years.

The BDF gives few additional details not known about the incident and defers to its Police brethren in their investigation which continues.

Commissioner of Police Chester Williams has called the force used unjustified but did not take a position on the ultimate charge to be laid.
