By BBN Staff: Yahoo News reports that the global travel authority Lonely Planet has listed Belize as one of the destinations travelers must visit in 2022.

Today the 17th annual “Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel 2022” was, released showcasing the top 10 destinations that have the greatest appeal for tourists. Apart from Lonely Planet’s top 10 countries, cities, and regions to visit in 2022, the book also contains a reflective view on travel in a post-pandemic world; inspiration and guidance for every destination to help travelers on their journeys, and expert advice on how to protect the areas you visit on your travels

Belize makes Number 4 on the list, beaten out by the Cook Islands, Norway, and Mauritius, which took the top three spots respectively in the Countries category.

“As we re-engage with the world with a new appreciation for what a privilege and responsibility travel is, Lonely Planet has drawn on the knowledge of our global community of experts to curate a collection of experiences that will inspire you to reconnect with the world,” Lonely Planet said. “We also reveal how you can have a positive impact as you return to the road, with practical advice that will help you to make sustainable travel choices, support local communities and celebrate inclusivity.”

Belize making the list brings major international promotion that will assist the country’s ongoing efforts to repair the tourism industry, following the massive damage done by the COVID-19 pandemic.
