By Benjamin Flowers: Today, St. Catherine’s Academy (SCA) put out a notice that it will be temporarily suspending face-to-face classes.
SCA said that the school will revert to online classes only for the next few weeks.
The school went on to say that the tentative date for the resumption of hybridized learning is February 7.
The closure reportedly comes after a positive case of COVID-19 was detected.
Since the start of the new year, schools have been reopening for hybrid learning which includes an in-class element, but many schools have reported either teachers or parents contracting COVID-19.
The Ministry of Education, culture, Science, and Technology has stressed that, thus far, there have been no reports of the virus being contracted in schools.
