By Aaron Humes: Police have identified this afternoon’s drowning victim as 16-year-old Enrique Quiroz of Santiago Juan Layout, San Ignacio Town.
According to police, Quiroz and two other teenage boys had gone out to the river this afternoon without their parents’ permission. The circumstances under which Quiroz apparently drowned is not clear.
Police say they arrived on the scene to find persons already diving to recover the body. The body was recovered by two men, after which CPR was administered but to no avail. Police investigations continue.
