By Rubén Morales Iglesias: American singer-songwriter Dustin Collins released ‘Workin’ Man’ the lead single and title track of his new album today, Friday, May 6.

“This song here, I think it can connect with anybody that’s hard working; I’ve seen that firsthand, a lot of the Belizeans who their work butts off down there,” said Collins to Breaking Belize News (BBN) while confirming that he is coming to Belize in October.

“We are making plans right now to come down, either the end of the summer or the beginning of fall, about October,” said Collins.

Collins said he has come to Belize several times.

“I’ve been down there quite a few times,” said Collins, who is good friends with the people at RCCbpo (Ready Call).

“Nubia Ramirez and David Long from RCCBPO. I’ve known David for years and years and I’ve known Nubia for a long time now. Whenever they have a Christmas or holiday party or something for their employees, they always invite me down to play music for them,” he said.

Long confirmed to BBN that Collins will perform at a concert when he comes in October.

Collins said the ‘amazing’ community in Belize inspired him for one of the singles ‘It always starts with you’ which should be included in the ‘Workin’ Man’ album.

“We went around and hung out with some of the different charities and some of the different folks that David and them work with, you know when they’re not doing the call center stuff and I was just amazed at what kind of community you guys have there,” Collins said.

The last time the American songwriter visited Belize was right before everything shut down because of the pandemic.

Last year, Collins told BBN that the songs in his new album are songs that Belizeans can identify with.

“І thіnk thе thіngѕ wе’rе ѕауіng оn thіѕ rесоrd іѕ gоіng tо bе аblе tо соnnесt wіth nоt оnlу реорlе іn thе UЅ but аlѕо іn рlасеѕ lіkе Веlіzе.
