Belize Men’s National Football Team to report to training next week at FFB for Concacaf Nations League games in June

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize Men’s National Football Team (BMNT) is to report to training next week at FFB headquarters in Belmopan in preparation for the Concacaf Nations League games in June.

The Football Federation of Belize (FFB) said earlier in the month that it was calling 22 players of the Belize Men’s National Team’s (BMNT) pool to report to camp on Wednesday, May 25, for four Concacaf National League games the first of which is on Thursday, June 2 against the Dominican Republic.

The BMNT is in Group D along with the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, and French Guiana in Concacaf League B.

The match against the Dominican Republic is scheduled for 4:00 pm at the FFB Stadium in Belmopan.

Right after that game, the BMNT will travel to Guatemala to take on the Guatemala National Team at 1:00 pm on Sunday at the Doroteo Guamuch Flores Stadium in Guatemala City.

The third game will be against French Guiana at 4:00 pm on Thursday, June 9 at the FFB Stadium.

The final match this year will be against French Guiana on Tuesday, June 14 at the Dr. Edmard Lama Municipal Stadium in Cayenne, French Guiana. The BMNT traveled this week to Guatemala City to get their French visas to travel to the South American country which is a territory of France.

Two years ago, the BMNT had to forfeit the match against French Guiana because France didn’t authorize the landing of the plane the FFB contracted to fly the team there.

The remaining two matches will be played during the FIFA window for international matches in March 2023.

On Friday, March 24, 2023, Belize will host Guatemala at 4:00 pm at the FFB Stadium.

The final match will be against the Dominican Republic on Monday, March 27 at the Félix Sánchez Olympic Stadium in Santo Domingo.
