Special Envoy’s Wonder Woman is Charlotte Nal!

Posted: Wednesday, September 7, 2022. 9:53 am CST.

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The Special Envoy for the Development of Families and Children, Rossana Briceno features outstanding Belizean women making a difference in Belize every week.

Today’s feature is on Charlotte Nal, a native Belizean who has shared her love of non-profit and giving back to others.

Charlotte has worked in the non-profit community for over 20 years.  Upon achieving her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Cameron University, she returned to her country and worked for National Committee for Families and Children as a Project Consultant.  During that time completed a “Social Impact Analysis of Hurricane Keith on Families and Children” for Belize.

Charlotte developed a strong sense of devotion to the non-profit sector, particularly in the family advocacy area.  She worked for Community Partnership for Child Development for over 18 years. She was the Strategic Initiative Liaison, primarily for military families and homeless families – this experience gave her a deep appreciation for how non-profits seek to improve the quality of life for others; one program at a time.

Charlotte worked along with a diverse range of stakeholders to assist in achieving the first head start stand-alone center in Fort Carson, Colorado.  She used her experience during this time to complete her Master’s Degree in Non-Profit Management at Regis University, UCLA Head Start Management Fellows Program, and Adverse Childhood Experiences Master Certified.

Charlotte also volunteered as a Family Readiness Leader at Fort Carson, Colorado, and at Fort Bliss, Texas.

She is also the Co-Founder of a non-profit in Belize, Wings of Mine helping mothers who have suffered miscarriages, and the Founder of a Non-Profit “Ixchel Caribe Foundation, Inc” which provides support to women and children in the pillars of education, mental and medical health and social services.

Her many hours of dedication to the cause of supporting military families have gained her the Army Outstanding Civilian Service Medal and the Yellow Rose of Texas.

Charlotte is currently married to CSM(ret’d) David Nal also a native Belizean.

Together they have 3 children Nichella, Alexia and David Mario. In her free time, she can be found in Naples, Florida exploring the beaches and continuously seeking ways to help the people of Belize.
