By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The Government of Belize has launched the National Micro, Small, and Medium (MSME) enterprises roadshow.
The purpose of the roadshow is to raise public awareness of the goods and services being produced by MSMEs.
Eighty businesses from San Ignacio, Santa Elena and Benque Viejo participated in the Boot camp training held on Wednesday at the Cayo North Resource Center in San Ignacio.
Manager of the Small Business Development in Belize (SBDC), Monique Usher told BBN that entrepreneurs benefited from trainings in 6 key topics that included Customer Service, Money Management and Social Media Content creation.
“ A part of the MSME roadshow is to build the capacity of these businesses so we do have trainings that we are conducting on the spot through a business development program that we have designed specifically catered to address the needs of MSME’s,” Usher stated.
Three female entrepreneurs will also have the opportunity to win $2,500 by pitching their businesses.
A formalization clinic will be held today which will include the participation of key Government agencies including Belize Tax Service, Belize Tourism Board, BELIPO as well as financial lending institutions.
