Taiwanese company donates machine to detect animal diseases to Ministry of Agriculture

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: A POCKIT Central Nucleic Acid Analyzer Machine donated by a Taiwanese company was this morning handed over to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise (MAFSE).

The machine which was donated by GeneReach Biotechnology Corporation, a Taiwanese Company dedicated to global health management innovations, will be used mainly for the detection of animal diseases such as African Swine Fever, said MAFSE.

Taiwanese Ambassador David Chien handed over the donation to Minister of Agriculture, Jose Abelardo Mai.

MAFSE said Managing Director of the Belize Agriculture Health Authority (BAHA) Zoe Zetina was present at the handing over.

The machine will be used by BAHA.
