Posted: Friday, December 23, 2022. 5:48 pm CST.

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Belize City man has been remanded to prison for allegedly committing armed robbery.

Twenty-year-old Keiron Raymond Requena appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, charged with a single count of robbery to which he pleaded not guilty.

Requena was shocked to learn that, despite prosecutors not having any objection to bail, he was still denied bail in the first instance.

He was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until February 23, 2023; however, he still has the option of obtaining bail at the Supreme Court, through the assistance of an attorney.

Requena is accused of robbing a male victim of a bag containing a laptop and other personal items to a total value of $1,678.
