International News: European Union recommends pre-flight testing of passengers from China

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On Wednesday, the European Union (EU) recommended that travelers from China to the EU should present a negative COVID-19 test, Reuters report.

China plans to ease travel restrictions on January 8, 2023 despite a new wave of COVID-19 in the country.

The recommendation comes after an earlier call by the European Commission for COVID-19 testing requirements for travelers from China.

Other countries including the U.S. have also imposed similar measures.

In addition, travelers on flights to and from China are urged to wear face masks.
