Ministry of Housing opens Blackberry Ridge, new housing site near Burrell Boom

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing (MIDH) on Wednesday officially opened Blackberry Ridge, a new housing site near Burrell Boom.

The MIDH is handing over 50 starter homes to 50 Belizeans to develop this new community.

Prime Minister John Briceño was on hand for the ribbon cutting.

Minister Julius Espat said the starter homes are climate resilient. They are ‘transformer’ homes, he said. Owners are given plans to improve their homes to three-bedroom homes.

The lots are 105 by 107 feet.

Application for a house under the low-income housing program can be had at the MIDH offices or their website.
