Today, Briceño visited the Belize Lantern in Taipei, Taiwan, which features the renowned Belize Jaguar Preserve.
“Thank you H. E. Ambassador for Belize to Taiwan Candice Pitts for inviting me to attend the Annual Taiwan Lantern Festival. The Festival that runs for two weeks and honors Belize with lanterns paying tribute to our natural assets. Our jaguars are featured prominently highlighting this endangered species and our country’s value of natural resources,” the Special Envoy said.
The inaugural ceremony was held earlier this month and Belize’s Ambassador Dr. Candice A. Pitts explained that Belize boasts the first Jaguar Preserve in the world, which is located in the Cockscomb Basin range.
The lantern also features national symbols of Belize, such as the national animal, the Tapir; national bird, the Toucan; national tree, the Mahogany; national flower, the Black Orchid.
