Belize City Defenders beat the storm out of the Belize Hurricanes 75-66 in the Belize Elite Basketball League

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Digi Belize City Defenders knocked the strength out of the menacingly advancing Benny’s Belize Hurricanes and beat them 75-66 at the Belize City Civic Center on Friday night.

The Defenders’ win puts them even with the Hurricanes at 4 wins and a loss leaving no more undefeated teams in the Belize Elite Basketball League.

The hottest game in the BEBL lived up to its billing.

Strangely enough all the game’s statistics disappeared from the BEBL website

Lorenzo Dillard led the Defenders with 27 points, nine rebounds, six assists, and four steals.

Nigel Jones converted 20 points, pulled nine boards, made two assists, five steals, plus blocked three shots.

Mykeil Tzul netted 12 points, made three rebounds, one assist, and three steals. Treandus Branch recorded ten rebounds and eight points. Farron Louriano had nine rebounds, and scored seven points.

The Hurricanes leader was Victor Evans with 20 points and six rebounds.

Kris Frazier was good for 15 points and 12 rebounds, plus two assists. Jamell Harris pulled 14 rebounds to go with seven points and four steals. Akeem Watters stole nine rebounds and scored six points.

Something still appears a afoul in the BEBL as all the game’s statistics disappeared from the BEBL website after being posted on Friday night.
