Belize Weather: Hot and windy

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Seasonably warm and dry weather prevails according to the National Meteorological Service. Skies today will be mostly sunny and tonight clear to partly cloudy with no rain expected.

High temperatures reach 89 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast; 97 degrees over inland areas and 87 degrees in the hills. Tonight’s low temperatures will be 80 degrees along the coast, 73 degrees inland and 66 degrees in the hills.

Winds are easterly to southeasterly at 10 to 20 knots with higher gusts and sea state is moderate to rough. A heat alert is in effect and residents, especially in inland areas, are advised to stay hydrated and avoid daytime outdoor activity. A small craft caution is in effect for occasional gusty winds and rough seas.

Tides will be low at 8:36 this morning and 11:15 this evening and high at 2:51 this afternoon. The sun sets at 6:11 this evening and rises at 5:28 Friday morning.

Similar weather conditions should be expected on Friday as well as a chance of isolated thunderstorms over the mountains in the afternoon.
