Students at Mopan Technical High demonstrate skills at vibrant Open Day

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, Mopan Technical High School in Benque Viejo del Carmen is hosting their Open Day.

Primary school students from Benque Viejo, San Ignacio and Santa Elena and surrounding villages were able to see architectural designs of modern houses, pastries and food making and event planning.

Prospective students are able to learn more about the courses offered including Architecture, Food and Nutrition and Agriculture.

Area Representative for Cayo West, Jorge Espat encouraged students to actively engage in these areas and prepare for their bright future.

“It’s inspiring to see the hard work and dedication of the students, teachers, administration, and visitors in developing much-needed skills in areas like agriculture, food, and nutrition, as well as English and Mathematics. Education is the key to success, and by focusing on these critical areas, students are positioning themselves to be highly employable and ready to take on any challenges that come their way,” Espat said.

Parents attending the event congratulated the students and teachers on their vibrant and engaging presentations.
