By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On Wednesday, the attorney for the sons of drug lord, Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman released a letter where the infamous “Chapitos” deny trafficking fentanyl to the U.S., Reuters report.

In April, the U.S. Justice Department brought charges against the leaders of the powerful Sinaloa Cartel including 4 of El Chapo’s sons.

The letter on behalf of “Los Chapitos” says that they never produced or marketed fentanyl.

“We have never produced, manufactured or marketed fentanyl or any of its derivatives,” the letter stated.

In addition, the sons claim that they are not the leaders of the Sinaloa Cartel but victims of misinformation, media and public figures.
