Bullet Tree stun Santa Familia 2-1, qualify for Cayo Football Association Final

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Saturday night, Bullet Tree turned the semifinal game around, beat Santa Familia 2-1 at the Norman Broaster Stadium in San Ignacio, and claimed the second ticket to the Cayo Football Association Final.

Bullet Tree will take on Flames in the Final set for Thursday night. The winners will join Opening Season champions 7 Miles in the National Interdistrict Championship which kicks off on the weekend.

Roy Cano scored the opener for Santa Familia in the 8’ but Bullet Tree tied it in the 16’ on a goal by Ryan Manzanero in the 16’. Albert Manzanero gave Bullet Tree the ticket to the Final when he scored the game winner in the 83’.

Bullet Tree’s Herman Galicia was ejected in the 88’ and Albert Manzanero in injury time in the 90’+2. Both will miss the final.

In the first semifinal on Saturday, Flames beat the defending champions 7 Miles, who already qualified for the National Interdistrict Championship, 4-3 in penalty kicks after 0-0 in regulation and extra time.

The Final is set for 9:00 pm on Thursday night. The third-place game will play at 7:00 pm. Both games will be staged at the Norman Broaster Stadium.
