By Aaron Humes: Keshane McDougal, 30, who works as security at a Belize City restaurant, tried to delay police entering his residence to conduct a search – but they got in anyway and found his marijuana stash.
In Magistrate’s Court he pleaded guilty to possession of 38 grams of marijuana and obstruction of a police officer.
McDougal was accused of refusing to allow a police officer to enter to execute a search warrant at his Banak Street apartment by not opening the door when called on. Police ultimately entered and found the marijuana.
The Magistrate fined him $300 on the marijuana charge due by August 31, 2023, and $500 on the obstruction charge due by September 29, 2023, in default a total of eight months imprisonment.
