Concacaf Central American Cup continues on Wednesday with 3 games, including Verdes match against Honduras champs Motagua

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Concacaf Central America Cup goes into its second day of action with three matches including Verdes’ game against Honduras powerhouse Motagua.

The Verdes-Motagua game will kick off at 4:00 pm at the FFB Stadium in Belmopan. Motagua arrived here on Tuesday.

Elsewhere, in Group C, Guatemala’s Comunicaciones host Honduran club Real España at 6:00 pm at the Estadio Doroteo Guamuch Flores in Guatemala City.

In Honduras, Olimpia take on visiting CAI of Panama at 8:00 pm at the Estadio Chelato Uclés in Tegucigalpa in Group B.

This week’s play will be completed on Thursday when Diriangén host Costa Rica’s Club Sport Herediano at the Estadio Cacique Driangén in Diriamba, Nicaragua at 6:00 pm. Two hours later, in a Costa Rican battle, Saprissa will play at home against Club Sport Cartaginés at the Estadio Ricardo Saprissa in San Juan de Tibás.

The Central American championship kicked off on Tuesday with three matches. In Group B, Costa Rica’s Liga Deportiva Alajuelense baptized Honduras’ Olancho 1-0 at the Alejandro Morera Soto Stadium in Alajuela, Costa Rica. In Group B, Nicaragua’s Real Estelí edged Guatemala’s Xelajú 1-0 at Estadio Independencia in Estelí, Nicaragua. And, in Group A, Guatemalan club Cobán Imperial pounded El Salvador’s Jocoro, who are playing their home games at the Olímpico Metropolitano Stadium in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, 4-1.

The tournament will continue next week with the second game for all teams.

Group B: Olimpia, Xelajú, CAI Panama, FAS, Real Estelí

Group C: Comunicaciones, Herediano, Real España, Aguila, Diriangén

Group D: Liga Deportiva Alajuelense, Motagua, Olancho, Sporting San Miguelito, Verdes
