International News: Over 52,000 miles of forest burnt already in Canada

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez:  Wildfires in Canada could continue burning at high rates, projections show.

According to Reuters, forest fires burnt in almost all 13 of Canada’s provinces forcing evacuations and disrupting energy production.

Four fighters died battling the deadly fires.

More than 168,000 people were forced to evacuate as 52,000 miles of land were burnt.

“This summer has turned into a challenging marathon,” Canadian Forest Service official Michael Norton said.

The haze from the fires also prompted health advisories in Canada and the U.S.
