Agriculture Ministers of Belize and El Salvador to discuss technical cooperation opportunities

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, the Minister of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise, Jose Mai is hosting El Salvador’s Minister of Agriculture and Livestock Lic. Oscar Enrique Guardado Calderon and the Director of Agriculture of El Salvador, the Director of Research and Development, the Director of Policy, the Director for Agricultural Education and the Ambassador of El Salvador to Belize, Graciela Marina Perez Zeledon for a 2-day visit.

The purpose of the visit is to explore opportunities for technical cooperation in agriculture between El Salvador and Belize.

The cooperation includes knowledge sharing, technology transfer, and joint projects aimed at improving food security and enterprise development in both countries.

The delegation will engage in discussions and meetings with officials from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise in Belize. These discussions will cover topics such as agricultural best practices, research collaboration, and trade relations.

The visit will also involve a tour of various agriculture sectors in the Cayo and Orange Walk districts. These districts are known for their diverse agricultural activities, including crop cultivation and livestock farming.

The Ministry noted that this visit will provide the delegation to gain insights on the opportunities provided by these regions as well strengthen the bilateral relations to pave the way for future collaborations in the agriculture sector.
