Attorney for Rodman Welch makes no case submission in trial for 2020 murder of Shakeem Dennison

By Breaking Belize News: Attorney OJ Elrington, representing accused murderer Rodman Welch, today made a no case submission in his trial for the 2020 murder of Hakeem Dennison.

Elrington made the no case submission on two grounds; firstly, being that where there is no evidence the judge should stop the case; and secondly, that the evidence before the court is tenuous and if deliberated by a jury, they would not be able to convict Welch.

The submission was made before Justice Nigel Pilgrim in the High Court, who has reserved his ruling on the submission for Thursday, November 16. The prosecution in the case so far has called 13 witnesses to the stand.

Dennison was shot and killed on October 12, 2020.
