Belize City man Jordan Burns shot dead on Holy Emmanuel Street

By Aaron Humes: Information has been received of a fatal shooting incident on Holy Emmanuel Street on Thursday morning.

The deceased, identified as Jordan Waight Burns, 24, was taken to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival according to family members.

Initial investigation revealed that about 9:00 a.m. Jordan Waight was walking on Holy Emmanuel Street in the direction of Lake Independence Boulevard when he was approached by a lone armed man who was dressed in a red shirt, who is of dark complexion and has dreads. He fired a single shot in Waight’s direction, subsequently injuring him.

Burns is said to have gang ties in the area and was previously targeted earlier this year.

An investigation is underway and further details are forthcoming.
