Magistrate’s absence pushes triple murder case to New Year

By Aaron Humes: Earlier this morning, former Police Corporal Elmer Nah was brought to Belmopan Magistrates Court for the continuation of his triple murder case.

However, due to the Magistrate being on leave, the case was further adjourned to January 26, 2024.

Nah was scheduled to receive disclosure in the case. He is accused of, but denies, shooting dead Jon, David and Vivian Belisle Ramnarace at their home on New Year’s Eve 2022, with Vivian succumbing 15 days later.

A family member told reporters that despite their annoyance with the case dragging on, they intend to see through justice for their loved ones.

Nah lost his job with Police last week after failing to convince Commissioner of Police Chester Williams not to dismiss him for being ineffective in his duties due to multiple complaints.
