By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Premier League of Belize (PLB) subchampions Port Layola bounced back after the opening week defeat to champions Altitude with a 5-2 thumping of Wagiya at the Marion Jones Sporting Complex in Belize City on Sunday, January 21.
Midfielder Latrell Middleton led the way with a hat trick scored in the 16th, 30th, and 77th minutes. Shawn Young in the 49th and Juan Ocampo in the 68th completed the hand.
Warren Moss scored a penalty kick for 41st minute and Kofi Nnadi netted the other in the 58th.
Port Layola are now in third place with three points, the same as Altitude, Wagiya, and Bandits, who are fourth, fifth, and sixth respectively.
In the other matches, Verdes edge Altitude 1-0, Benque Viejo United beat Police Benque (Club Deportivo Benque) 1-0 as well, while Bandits doubled up on Progresso 2-1.
