By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belize District farmers along with teachers and students from Belize District schools participated in a visit to a farm and two schools in the Orange Walk District. The visit was organized by the Belize District Department of Agriculture with the objective of enhancing agricultural education. The event aimed to exchange knowledge, promote growth, and connect academic learning with real-world application.

Apart from the farmers, the teachers and students who participated in the visit are from Ladyville Technical High School, Kings College, and Ladyville Evangelical Primary School. They visited the Belize High School of Agriculture and the Carmelita Primary School and the Peter Penner pitahaya farm.

“This exchange facilitated knowledge sharing, particularly from the Orange Walk District, empowering attendees to enhance their agricultural practices,” the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise (MAFSE) said.

The Belize Agriculture Department thanked all the participants for their commitment to improving agricultural education and reaffirmed their support for sustainable practices and to the empowering of future farmers.
