Belize City Defenders lead Belize Elite Basketball League with 3-0 record

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize City Defenders are the current leaders in the Belize Elite Basketball League.

The Defenders are undefeated in three games and boast six points.. They are followed by the Benny’s Belize Hurricanes with a 2-0 record and four points.

The San Pedro Tiger Sharks and the Orange Walk Running Rebels also have four points but from one win and two losses.

The Belmopan Trojans are fifth with one win and one loss for three points.

The EZ Investments Griga Dream Ballers find themselves in the sixth spot with two points from two losses while the Cayo Ballaz are in last place with only one point from the only game they’ve played.

The Belize City Defenders took over the top spot with a 90-72 win over the EZ Investments Griga Dream Ballers on Friday at the Belize City Civic Center. The Benny’s Belize Hurricanes dropped out of first place due to inactivity as their game against the Western Ballaz scheduled for Saturday night in San Ignacio was postponed.

The San Pedro Tigers Sharks recorded their first victory beating the Orange Walk Running Rebels 79 65 on Sunday at the Belize City Civic Center.
