By Aaron Humes: Describing her as “a bright light cherished by her peers and loved by her teachers,” the administration of Anglican Cathedral College (ACC) announced plans for a memorial service in honor of murder victim Lamisha Moody, shot dead Wednesday night at the age of 15.
The school expressed its solidarity with Moody’s family and called on students to “lean on each other for strength” while offering counseling and spiritual support.
“Gun violence has no place in our society, and Lamisha’s passing reminds us of the urgent need for action,” the statement continued, expressing grief and heartache in the collective body of the school.
The school called on all to honor the fallen student “by spreading love and cherishing each other.”
Moody was shot while her attackers went after neighborhood figure Troy Hyde, who died on arrival at hospital.
