Shooting incident at social event in Roaring Creek leaves one injured

By Aaron Humes: On Friday, March 22, 2023, at about 10:15 p.m., based upon information received police visited the Western Regional Hospital, Belmopan. Upon arrival, they observed a man with a single gunshot wound to the left thigh. The victim was identified as Daniel Lopez, 23, from Roaring Creek Village, Cayo District.

Initial investigations revealed that Lopez was socializing in the Another World area at a combined birthday party and baby shower when two men approached the gathering on a blue motorcycle and fired shots toward the group, which resulted in Lopez’s injury.

Police say they are investigating. Lopez is currently at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.
