got past the Western Ballaz 74-64 in Belize Elite Basketball League (BEBL) to keep pace with leaders Benny’s Belize Hurricanes with a 5-2 record.
D’von Campbell led the way with 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists at the Russell ‘Chiste’ Garcia Auditorium in Dangriga in Friday night. Delvin Henderson and Daniel Conorquie scored 14 points each. Henderson added 12 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal, and 4 blocks. Conorquie added 2 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals.
Fot the Western Ballaz, Mark Gordon recorded a game-high 23 points to go with 10 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals. Darnell Oden and Jamie Carbajal got 12 points apiece. Oden collected 9 rebounds off the glass and made 2 blocks. Carbajal added 4 rebounds, 5 assists, and 1 steal.
In the other Friday night game, the Benny’s Belize Hurricanes ran the Belmopan Red Taigaz 105-64 at the Belize City Civic Center to close the first round of the Belize Elite Basketball League (BEBL) season in the top spot with a 5-2 record. The Hurricanes remain as leaders over Griga the top spot on points.
The Cayo Western Ballaz dropped to 3-4.
