According to reports, authorities were called to an area by Dolphin Park in Belize City where they saw the lifeless body of David Alfonso Alamilla ,37.
Police investigation reveals that about 11:11 a.m., Alamilla and some other passengers departed to St. George’s Caye on board a 32 ft. boat. The boat was carrying lumber and towing a 26 ft. skiff.
When the crew reached about ½ mile away from Moho Caye, water entered the boat causing the vessel to capsize.
Alamilla was attempting to assist a colleague who was drowning when he drifted away and drowned.
The body now awaits a postmortem examination.
Police are investigating.
