American missing at sea after setting sail to Belize from Guatemala

By BBN Staff: American national, Travis Gates, commonly known as Heavy, is reported missing at sea somewhere in the waters off the coast of Guatemala and Belize.

Gates set sail in his sailboat on Monday 23rd November 2020 heading to Belize from Guatemala. His sailboat ran off course and was found on the north point of Cabo Tres Puntas in Guatemala on Tuesday, 24th November.

An extensive search was conducted by Guatemalan authorities last week by air and sea but to date Gates has not been located. Authorities in Belize have been alerted and a missing person report has been filed.
