Thursday, September 4, 2014. AARON HUMES Reporting: Five young Mexican musicians have landed in Belize to perform concerts in Belize City and Benque Viejo.

They are the brass quintet “Ayre” and we met with them today at practice at the Mexican Institute.

Bass trombonist Miguel Antonio Garcia says they are looking forward to playing classical Mexican tunes in the paso doble, danza and other disciplines.

Tenor trombonist Oscar Osorio says Belizeans can look forward to at least one Belizean selection on the lineup as “Tribute to the Baymen” is a listed performance.

The group has been together for about five years.

The other members are trumpeters Alejandro Isai Brito and Raul Alejandro Mendez and French horn player Andres de Jesus Sabido.

The concerts are scheduled for Friday, September 5 at 6:30 p.m. at the Institute of Mexico in Belize City, and on September 6 in Benque at the House of Culture as feature performer in the 13th anniversary celebration for that institution.

Entrance is free.
