Woman’s body found in Independence village

Tuesday, October 14, 2014. PATRICK E. JONES Reporting: Police in Stann Creek are investigating a homicide in Independence village.

Around 9 o’clock this morning, authorities found the body of 33 year old Lizette Aldana on the Tex Mar Shrimp Farm road in Independence village.

A statement from the police press officer says that Aldana’s body had multiple gunshot wounds.

Aldana’s body has been taken to the Southern Regional Hospital where it now awaits a post mortem examination.

Investigations are ongoing.
